PNW Climate Week
Rebrand & Event Design
Objective
Climate Designers Seattle hosted a PNW Climate Week Brandathon where teams of up to three competed in developing a new compelling brand for PNW Climate Week that reflected the unique regional character, environmental focus, and sense of urgency.
The winners of the Brandathon would have their logo used for the upcoming PNW Climate Week. Each team was given a week to complete our submission.
Approach
My partner and I conducted research to understand the region's distinct characteristics and climate-related concerns. After a few iterations, we designed a logo that incorporated a slanted tree, symbolizing the Pacific Northwest (PNW) region's name and geography. We also used typography to convey a sense of urgency and optimism through font weight and natural curves inspired by local waterways.
Outcome
We won :)
Our team's winning design was chosen for its thoughtful balance of regional identity, environmental awareness, and modern sensibility. We beat 15+ other teams with a unanimous decision from all the judges.
